Fake Rumors of Steve Jobs Heart Attack Circulate

I logged in just to vote Negative on this. If they at least used their brains a little and realized Steve Jobs did not really have any problems with heart, but with pancreatic cancer...
Steve isn't blameless these kinds of things happen. The culture of secrecy he created at Apple makes rumours and speculation on areas important to the company.
There is some shared responsibility here. He doesn't have to make everything public, but he has options to crush the rumours. He could, for example, ask his doctor to submit his medical records to the SEC, so they can verify his health and release a statement. Jobs' health is a major issue for shareholders - if you want to have that much influence on other peoples' money, you have to sacrifice some privacy.

You know, despite all of my online-ness I've never been to 4chan. I tried to because of this article from work and egads! websensed.
I see this as one of two things:
1. Some sick, immature anti-Apple fanboi who feels that Apple's success somehow belittles their own life values posts this as their horrible attempt at a prank;
or
2. Some sick, immature anti-Apple stock shorter posts this in an attempt to hurt the stock value, thereby profiting off the loss of true investors.
I think it's ridiculous and harmful to the American business to be able to bet on and profit off of the demise of a company's worth, but that's besides the point.
If this person was just some jerk who likes to cause a panic, they're sick and obviously hate themselves, deep inside. If this person was a stock shorter or influenced by a stock shorter, the legality of their actions comes into play and they should be punished to the full extent of the law.

Agreed, seems as though the rumor didn't spread fast enough or was started too early for it to really cause issues.
For better or for worse there is some amount of value in the Apple share price based on Steve Jobs being a part of the company, with the markets being as nervous as they are something like this, if it were to be true, would probably cause an over reaction on the stock price.
the apple following is so large that even when the market takes a dip, thousands us rival together and buy apple stock.Such a good price which gets it back up.

People may have voted positive to say, "thank god, it's only a rumor." Or, "I'm glad MacRumors and other sites are highlighting this as fake, so people can stop panicking and dumping stock." The positive/negative voting system is very subjective.

Unless u are a shareholder and no offence to Steve, personally who really cares about his health condition?? Worst case scenario, if he dies I would feel as humanly sorry for his relatives and close friends but technology like always wont care who's here or who's not.
