we know there’s a second event coming for the iPads (at least rumored). What if Apple shocks everyone and releases a flat edge Apple watch and calls it the Apple Watch Pro?

I mean we don’t have any dates for the series 7. What if they release a the new design as Apple Watch 7 Pro? If they release a flat edge Apple Watch and stainless steel Sierra blue… bru I’ll be the first to preorder. Lollll

They just announced Apple Watch 7 with a minor redesign. There’s absolutely zero chance they announce another redesign one month later. If there was a Pro version, it would’ve been announced the same day, especially considering neither models are available to purchase at this point.

The „standard“ Apple Watch S7 is the pro with the SE being the non-pro watch. What kind of features should a Apple Watch Pro come with over the S7? Just the flat edge design? A design that would make the Watch very uncomfortable in „pro-situations“ like some sports…

I was super hyped about the new design to come and very sad when I realized the Watch looks still the same… But I don’t believe they will release a flat Apple Watch Pro..

I don’t see that happening. Maybe the flat design will be for the S8 or S9, but what would be the point of S7 if Apple was to release an other flagship watch only a few weeks later? Updates between generations are already very incremental, I don’t see Apple changing their line up before the usual september launch.

I was also hoping for the rumored flat edge design to match the edge of the new iPhones.

my series 2 iwatch in stainless steel matched the silver iPhone X I had. Going to miss that when I order the new series 7

Uhhhh maybe they should shock with the AW 7 they have already announced yet given no ETA on

Didn’t they just revamp the iPad mini and base model. I think with chip shortages they will be hard pressed to deliver what they already have.

I would be surprised if the watch is released within the next two weeks. Other than that, I’m not expecting anything.

Why does everyone want a flat edge watch? Seems like it would pretty ugly and uncomfortable on the wrist.
If u think it’s uncomfortable then there are some comfortable Android watches out there for you lol

It would be uncomfortable whenever you put something with a sleeve on and of because the sleeve won’t just slide over smoothly. This is fact. I have a case for my S5 with that kind of form factor and it is just annoying.

It would be uncomfortable for people who are wearing the Apple Watch closer to the wrist and then whenever they bend their wrist in an 90 degree angle eg. when doing push-ups..

And last but not least it would be uncomfortable for my well-being whenever I look at my watch and see all the ugly dents and quirks from countless times the watch took a hit straight on the top corner…

I was really hyped for that new flat design, but the more I think about the benefits of the „old“ design, I feel relieved it stayed rounded! Just think how fat the S4/S5/S6 would look if they just changed the rounded sides to the straight up flat design?! It would be way too high. For that flat design not being uncomfortable and actual looking good, they need to get that watch thinner. I don’t see that to happen.

Honestly, I've been thinking about this too. The flat edge with sharper corners might actually dig into your wrist more. It probably looks better in photos but doesn't sound as practical as a rounded design.

But who knows, maybe Apple can tweak a flat edge design to be just as comfortable if not more.

I completely agree.

Surely im not the only one who is GLAD that flat design wasn't real... or at least wasn't the "new" 2021 design.

Watches are wearables and must be comfortable and nice looking. Making it flat sided and angular is not a good idea when it comes to practicality for many of the reason other posters have said already.

Frankly, I like the curved styling that we have now and although it can and will be refined over the years I dont want to end up with something that looks like a lego brick strapped to my wrist.

I see zero chance of that. I also think the flat design would have looked cheap. It's fine on an iPad but not on a watch.
