Fallout 3 on PS3 won't get past 'Start'

Hi all - I've bought Fallout 3 on eBay but it won't let me start the game!

It loads to the 'Press Start' screen, the music carries on, the pictures change, but pressing start does nothing.

All the software is up to date, and it's not my controller - any ideas please?

Delete the installation data and restart again.

Thanks - but I tried that. I did a 'Restore PS3' thing but the problem is still there.

I'm trying a full HDD format at the moment, but it's going to take nearly 4hrs.
