My kid’s watch has all the permissions needed on my iPhone to allow apps to be downloaded on their Family Setup Watch.

Anytime we try to download an app on the watch’s App Store that doesn’t require a companion iPhone it fails to download. But there’s a popup saying enter iCloud password. As soon as we do that it takes us back to the App Store where we double click to install, but then it fails. Once in a blue moon I get a permission request sent to my iphone, but even though I approve it right away the app still doesn’t download.

Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

i have my watch setup as standalone. i was able to download an app directly from the app store on the watch (watchtube) to test. no issues. im using an ultra 2. no icloud pass needed.

are you willing to share the specific app you are trying to download direct to the watch? i can test on my end.

it may be that you did not properly setup the watch initially. i can help with that too as ive had the OG ultra and the ultra 2 standalone out of the box.
