My wife and I used to have separate iCloud accounts, each with 2TB. We share the same iMac and have our own iPhones, iPads, iPods, etc. Six months ago or more, I decided to consolidate the accounts by purchasing Apple One and turning on Family Sharing, with me as the Organiser. All seemed to go okay but...
Under Family Sharing, 'Shared with your family' lists the obvious (TV+, Music, Arcade, News+): all show me as the Subscriber, sharing with my wife. However, under iCloud Storage, I see that '[my wife] is sharing a 2TB storage plan with your family' and she is consequently still paying for her storage, used for her data and mine, and neither she nor I are using the Apple One storage.
I spent about an hour on the phone to Apple and the only solution they could recommend was for my wife to cancel her storage payment, wait 30 days, 'activate my storage' (though I'm unclear how I'd do that), and re-invite her under Family Sharing. Both her data and mine would then, apparently, be uploaded again. My 10Mbps upload bandwidth makes that a very scary option!
Any advice?
