Wait a second... for familytalk plan you need to purchase 2 iphones?!?!!

So does this mean that because I am on a family plan I am unable to get an iphone? The iphone that I have been waiting for for many many months?!

If this is true somebody will wake up dead tomorrow morning. Either me, or the person who decided that rule...

If you are already with AT&T, you can buy just one iPhone and the $30 data plan gets added to your account bill..

If you are a new customer creating a new plan, and if you want a FamilyTalk plan, you have to get at least 2 iPhones.

what in the world are you talking about man :D

You could have any combination of phones on your family talk plan. Dont worry and dont lose sleep over this.

So if I go into the AT&T store and I am a new customer and I want to get a familytalk plan and purchase 2 iPhone 3G's can I do that?

I know thats what i thought, just look at the newest article on macrumors that quotes apple insider about family talk plans.

From what I was told at the local AT&T store, I am able to purchase multiple iPhones as long as I sign a 2 year contract for each individual lines.

It would be stupid if they only allow 1 per customer on a family line.

whew!!! Yea, when I went to the appleinsider link it said "new" which MR decided to leave out. So I was hoping that what you said was the case. And hopefully it is! I was ready to murder...

that doesnt make sense

"- FamilyTalk plan buyers must purchase at least 2 iPhones, or have an existing iPhone to be used in the plan"

From this, looks like AI mis-phrased this. It should be like this.

"- FamilyTalk plan buyers must purchase at least 2 iPhones, or have an existing Phone to be used in the plan as the other family plan line.."

That sounds more correct, can anyone confirm this?

wait, are yall thinking u HAVE to get 2 iphones for a family plan?!?!?

definately not, its jus that the family plans listed assume 2 or more iphones so to be qualified for that assumptive price u would have to have 2 iphones..

Ok, but if I am already in a family talk plan, and qualify for upgrade(by about 3 years actually) then can I buy just one iphone and add the $30 data plan? Can you confirm this?

yes 100%, its an upgrade jus like any other day with any other phone, only u r required to get the data plan ofcoarse

This is incorrect. If you are a new customer and want 1 line with an iPhone and the other line (or multiple others for that matter) without the iPhone, you can do that as well. From a costing standpoint you simply look at the AT&T FamilyTalk plans and add $30/month for each 3G iPhone you want in the plan. Does someone really think that you will be forced to have all FamilyTalk lines be 3G iPhones in order to be a customer?

ok good glad to hear that. I'm actually gonna purchase 1 3G iphone and a blackberry for my wife. So we should be able to get the reduced price on both phones with a 2 year contract right?
