Tom Clancy. But last time I saw an interview with him, he was sitting in front of a PC. I'm starting to wonder if he ditched the Mac after OS X because he was a fan of that PowerBook G3 in Rainbow Six at least. And the next time I saw him was when OS X was out and about. Anybody know?

I remember seeing Rush and Linkin Park using Macs for in-studio recording. But, they were both using OS 9, so I'd like to think those don't quite count. And they aren't using it for personal use, from what I can tell.

Are we supposed to count the celebrities that use Macs on their T.V. or movie sets as a Mac users? It seems like it's more often there to look pretty, not that they're actually using it. Just wondering.

I also seriously think we lost a few Mac celebrities with OS X...

A couple more..

Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick

Both these people use macs in real life - there's an interview somewhere with SJP where she talks about her macs :) - besides, she is the typical mac user - trendy, gap wearing NYC hipster ;)

Don Imus talks about his PowerBook and iPod on his Radio program. Often he mentions his iPod tunes, if the caller can guess the tune and artist they win an iPod. Mike Barnacle a local columnist, radio, and TV host in New England uses a PowerBook. Laura Ingraham uses an iPod, but she desperately needs to get a Mac.

Cake uses them as well. I remember an insterview where they said that they did one of there vid with final cut express, and for everyone to go out and buy a MAC and start being creative.

Leo Laport (old host the The Screen Savers) uses one for evrything, even to control his home security system.

I remeber hearing somewhere that alot of TV shows and movies use macs becuase Microsoft makes them pay them if they want to show them using there software running. I think thats why alomost all commercials that show a website are using nescape, or some other browser then IE. But who knows if its true or not.

It does sound like something micosoft would do thouhg :p

I read in an interview recently that GW Bush has an iPod that he uses while exercising every day. I wonder if it's bullet proof or has some kind of Satellite receiver for free ITMS downloads.

I read a David Frum article where he went into depth about his iBook logic board problem. Apple let him trade up to a PowerBook.

just remembered,

nigella lawson (my fav. tv chef ;) ) has an original iMac..

She's probably upgraded now though (her tv series was filmed some time ago)

this really dont tell u who uses them, but a powermac g5 appears in blade trinity and a powermac g4 appears in gerfield the movie lol

On Absolutely Fabulous they always have the latest Mac somewhere in the house, on the Christmas special episodes they had the iMac G5 shown several times. Come to think of it, another Xmas special featuring one of the French and Saunders duo - The Vicar of Dibley, they had a Powerbook 15" on there. I guess Apple's market share in terms of computers on tv programs is more like 80%!

I realised that Paris hilton uses a mac!
Not only Apples - judging by the second picture, she likes oranges and pears too. Not to mention the melons in the first picture....

One that people forgot... Steve Jobs uses a Mac. Yes, I did have my Kool Aid today. :D Sorry, couldn't resist.

RDA

Richard Dean Anderson (my personal hero) uses a Mac. Well, according to him, he can barely check e-mail, so "uses" might be too strong. He owns a Mac.

I can just see him pecking away with two fingers. ;)

three of my favourite authors: douglas adams, neal stephenson, william gibson

Cosmicity

Mark Nicholas (aka. Cosmicity) uses a Mac and shows a G4 iMac in his "commercial" for his last album at http://cosmicity.com/EP42SpoofAd.html

The iMac appears about 3/4 of the way through the video. And if you're a fan of American synthpop, or just a fan of parodies of late night TV commercials, that video is definitely worth watching!

Okay okay, so American synthpop isn't particularly popular and as a result Cosmicity isn't particularly famous, but it's still a Mac sighting in the world at large.

Every single member of Coldplay owns a Powerbook. ;)

But whatever. There are so many people who use Macs in this world that it's pointless to even try to count the number of famous people who use them. In fact, people with higher incomes are simply more likely to use them than regular folk who can't afford to spend over $1000 on a brand new computer.

And from what I've read, Bill Gates has an iMac at home. ;)
