Fan Control 1.2

Who here has installed Fan Control 1.2 on their 17 inch MBP unibody? Is it worth installing?

I don't.

I don't see the need at all. Apple designed these things so they will work properly, if theres something that don't work according to specs, get them to fix it, don't fix it yourself when you don't have to.

i use coolbook.

better than fancontrol is smc fancontrol ..

you will need it, when your mbp gets so hot so you can make bacon/eggs 😉

You need CoolBook or Fan Control if your doing advanced graphical work on your 17" MBP, or coding and debugging at the same time, or intense work in Windows, otherwise dont bother. Although if you aren't doing one of those things i would wonder why your buying a 17" Unibody.

You dont need them for surfing the web, emailing and playing WoW.
