    Hi all,

Not sure if this exclusively a Windows 10 issue or just a general Windows one, but I've noticed the fan controller behaving very differently when my Mid 2010 Mac Pro is under significant load when running Windows.

Have been doing some Handbrake renders this afternoon, maxing the CPU, but the fans barely kicked up at all. Using CoreTemp I could see one core hitting 97 degrees!

In OS X (10.11.4) it's a little different; fan speeds ramp up proportional to load, though this seems sluggish to respond. I usually just rely on smcFanControl to force the relevant fans up to keep temps low.

Is this other people's experiences? If so, is there a way to deal with fan speeds while running Windows?

Don't have 2010 MP so won't comment on that, but you can download Macs Fan Control for Windows and OS X.

97 seems a bit too extreme, and MacsFanControl is a good software to setup your own comfortable fan profile in Windows 10.

I am almost solely using Win10 on my cMP and can also recommend MacsFanControl, I am mainly using Autodesk, Office and Gaming and have set up profiles that make me feel a little safer.
