Ive downloaded istat nano, iStat Pro and the new singular dashboard guages not to use all at once mind, but just to see what i like best. However, none of them ever detect fans, they say there are no sensors avaliable. Is this common, or is this just my MBP?

Fans never show on iStat*

I don't know about the ones you listed, but if you visit www.shockwidgets.com and get miniStat2 it can detect Intel fans. I hope this helps! 🙂
(edit: I don't know if you are required to register for the Intel thing, but registering is definitely nice and its only 4.95$ I think.)
