Fans on UMBP after 10.5.7

Something strange is happening post 10.5.7

I'm noticing spike that takes my fans from 2000rpm to 6000rpm

Activity monitor doesn't show me anything useful

I haven't noticed any real change at all. Negative or positive... It is quiet as always.

Randomly using it. goes from 2000 to 4500rpm pretty easily.

Redo the 10.5.7 install using the full combo installer available from apple.com:

Something probably didn't update right.
