My wife and I both have new rMBP 13" machines. Both machines have the same issue where the fans sometimes start and run at full speed during the time the machines are asleep. They don't feel at all warm. The fans sometimes slow and stop themselves and on other occasions only stop if we switch off and reboot the machines.

Has anyone else seen this? Is it something we should be concerned about?

Yes, but there's nothing updating or synching. Can't see any activity other than the fans running.

I found this thread looking for a solution to an odd problem I'm having. Suddenly, I've noticed my 13" cMBP (2012) not going to sleep when I put it to sleep. The sleep light comes on but the fan stays on. I'm selecting 'sleep' from the Apple menu and all Energy Saver settings have been restored to default. The fan stays running and the machine stays pretty warm. Activity Monitor shows nothing unusual.

Until recently I could just close the cover and it would sleep (fan off, sleep light on, cool machine). Anyone have any idea as to what could cause this?

Probably doesn't matter but I'm running Mavericks (10.9.5). Thanks!
