Fans speed up playing games

Fans really kick in when I'm playing say a mac game on a rMBP 2014 15 inch with nvidia are these laptops not made to play these mac games or do all mac fans Rev up like that?

Fans rev up while doing any GPU intensive task. GPUs produce heat, that's all there is to it.

No, it won't ruin the machine. It's designed to run the fans when the GPU gets hot and this prevents it from overheating.

Ok thank you and having the laptop in clamshell mode will it make the fans work harder?

Yes, the air exhaust is much more covered by the hinge when in clamshell mode.

Also, some heat dissipates on keyboard area (incidentally), so it's best to have her opened up while doing anything intensive enough for fans to kick up!

Fans rev up on my gaming PC as well when I start to game on my 1080p monitor.

Don't worry about it.
