I've got a 2011 iMac27. Hardware is upgraded to flash and works beautifully *except* apple won't upgrade beyond High Sierra. A flirt with opencore patcher that failed and a linux install that works beautifully.
I read that fans and temperatures are all handled by hardware.
In which case why: https://github.com/MikaelStrom/macfanctld
I did some hard work. CPU fan was at minimum (some 1200 rpm) and core were mid 50Cs.
I'd expect say 2000 rpm at this temp.
Any opinions or words-of-wisdom please

Ofcourse that is where my concern comes from because I'm running linux there is no apple-software so either the HARDWARE handles it or I must write software to do so.

Oh. Of course. It’s all software controlled but I have no idea how. Hopefully a Linux guru can help.
