My MacBook fans are at 1800 and I can still hear them. When I first got my MacBook, I couldn't really hear them as much.


Could using smcFanControl make them sound any different?

That is one reason i moved to the MBP, mine were always a bit noisy.....could not take it and sold it .......

Not likely. 1800 is the minimum. I cannot hear my fans at 1800 but my hearing is probably worse than yours. One of the benefits of middle age. 😀

Well, for me it really isn't bothersome. I was just a bit worried that something could be wrong.

99% of the time I'm listening to music. The 1% is usually when I am sleeping and its on.
