That’s too bad, I was just thinking to get an Apple TV just to play Arcade titles. I’m currently played over 3 hours of Fantasian, and it’s been great on iPad Pro 2020 with PS4 controller. I hook it up on my TV to get bigger screen than my 11 inch iPad.

The game delivers my expectations as an old time classic Final Fantasy turn based JPRG fan. It has some twist on the battle and dungeon mechanics so that it doesn’t feel outdated yet still feels nostalgically classic. Old school characters, magic world and all JPRG goodness are all here as well. So happy this game came up just when I started my free Arcade subscription.
I don’t think I fiddled with game mode and the like. I just tried it and was like. Nope. Too much input lag. It’s worth a shot if you think you may like to play games on the TV and only have an Apple TV. But the big boys made by Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft can’t be beat at the moment.

I'm floored by how beautiful this is and how much care went into it. Just subscribed to Apple Arcade, and my mind is blown over how high quality their catalog is. Is this the future of gaming? A business model of all you can download for some monthly fee instead of free junk full of ads and incremental buy-ups designed by psychologists and economists (yes serious developers hire them) to revenue maximize the user to some unknown degree...
I hope not, I'd rather avoid subscriptions and just pay for my games once, like I've already been doing on Steam and every console I've owned. I also don't like the idea that there are games like this that are exclusive to Arcade, because I imagine a lot of people would like to buy games like this as a standalone game not tied to a membership or subscription.

The brickwork reminded me of this. Probably better known to people in the UK?

What’s so weird about not wanting to rent games? I would prefer to purchase it too. In fact, what I’d really enjoy is a physical copy.
Like, has there ever been such a thing for a mobile phone? To buy a physical copy of any software ;) Seriously dude, look at what you are commenting against. What’s next, you want an integrated blu ray player on your iPhone?

I’m new to arcade and never played any games on my Apple TV before. I started Fanasian on my iPhone. If I fire it up on the Apple TV, will my save file be there?

Can you play it switching back and forth between your iPhone (while you are out) and continue when you get home on your Apple TV?

For a tablet: yes, the nintendo switch comes to mind. What I’m curious about is why some people find it laughable or ridiculous that others would prefer to buy and own software over being forced into a money-sucking update loop where many times that apple pushes out an obligatory update you’re required to pay developers (and apple) on apple’s app store for the convenience of being able to keep using the software for which you already have paid, in the form of a subscription or otherwise. PCs used to be able to defend themselves from security threats without breaking all software they ran, but somehow one of the world’s richest companies can’t seem to figure this out while getting richer and richer.

Because it is totally off topic and has nothing to do with this game. Apple Arcade was launched ages ago. It’s great to see more great games arrive on it. Makes what one is paying for it even greater value.
