Any advantage to using this app on my macbook and iPhone over Google Calendar---

I like layout. Main calendar is iOS similar for Day/Week/Month views.

I like black background on side bar. Assume same on iPhone. Although seems main calendar will be white.

I like to add an event with a set appointment like 230pm, but start it at 8am so I see it early in day. I can do that quicker in Google Calendar. Maybe takes getting use to.

Try the 21 day free trial. Download from: https://flexibits.com/fantastical The iOS version works well for me but it's a personal thing. There is a light theme option on the phone.

Thanks

I am doing that. I like the dark theme. Based on how I enter my events mentioned above, it will take some time to get quick at it. If in another month, I don't see a way to get directly back to "Today". All my other calendars have that, including their desktop version. Which is very expensive.

Watching video guides. Really nice. Makes good use of 3D Touch.

Trial up today--finding it hard to cough up 50.00. lol

It is still cumbersome to add an event like "Dr Appt 2pm" and have it in the 8am time slot so visible at beginning of day. Maybe I am weird and only one that does that--may try the other way and just add an alert an hour or so early.

Was some slow syncing when adding/deleting events. from other devices. iPhone app and mac google calendar change quickly. Push is selected.

I've been using it for quite a while, I bought it with iTunes credit I won in a competition but personally I wouldn't have paid for it out of my own wallet. It does some fancy things and don't get me wrong the natural language input is amazing, but outside of that there isn't much else over other cheaper or free calendars.

They are going to let me re-trial with the sync issue. It only started after I accidentally "Quit" app and had to reinstall thru my download folder. That is when Reminders messed up too. Will see how totally fresh download and install go. I like it a lot on my iPhone. But, that was 4.99. I wouldn't mind the one time 50.00. However, seems they charge you again if they have certain update

Yes, from 1 to 2 was another payment, obviously when 3 comes out it will be also. Not to mention the mac version jumped up significantly in price.

I own fantastical 2 on both ios and android, but only have fantastical 1 on mac. I will not be buying fantastical 2 and in fact do not use fantastical 1 right now as I got busycal free some time go and like it. Fantastical 2 I tried but it's way too much and with the discount they offered to fantastical 1 owners it was still too much.

In other words there are several calendars I like well enough not to pay the price for F2. When F3 comes out I will be changing my ios and android calendars, in fact I use today calendar on android and prefer that to fantastical.

I agree with you. 50.00 for a one time price MAY be tempting but every time a new version comes out is ridiculous. Not to mention the price jumped way up for the mac version 2, who knows what version 3 will cost.

Yeah, the added purchases are the problem. There are thousands of apps out there. So, this may not be an exception. But, haven't come across an app this expensive with such high upgrade charges.

btw the free re-trial is working flawlessly, so will be buying. will be on macbook and ios.
their customer support has been very good.
