I have updated 3 MBA with 3 Fanxiang PCIe for Mac SSDs (they have 12+16 pin connectors and do not require any adapters).

2 MBA 2015 have 8 GB of RAM and were with two 1 TB Fanxiang SSDs, then I installed the latest supported macOS Monterey and upgraded them to macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 using Open Core Legacy Patcher.

A MBA 2013 with 4 GB of RAM received a 512 GB Fanxiang SSD and is running macOS Ventura.

I'll add to this older post.....I just put a 512gb in my 2011 iMac and it's working great on Sequoia as of yesterday (11/23). Starts up quick too. Im getting another as a secondary drive

Thank you for the update on this, I think these drives are great alternatives to the adapter plus trial and error method others are willing to go for.

Very good that it worked without any issues to update your system.
