I've enjoyed having the best laptop on market since I got my MBP C2D on november '06, and I did love the sensation.
Now I guess I will wait for Merom's grandson to think about a new laptop, since mine should serve me well for the next 3 years (I hope! )

Anyway, congrats for those lucky persons that will enjoy LED displays and a better Graphic card (much much better I guess). From the whole new specs, the graphic card is the one that bother me the more, but, what can be done?

just keep enjoying a perfect, flawless MBP :apple:

    a toast for all those yestarday-best-laptop-available !!!!!

    Are you drunk sir?

I can just imagine you slurring over your MBP, cursing and feeling second best.

Dude, I'm rockin the hell out of a G4 PowerBook. I bought it last March.. think about what I've been going through!

Still, this machine is more than ample for what I need it for (even some video editing sometimes), and I couldn't be happier with it. Just enjoy what you have, and keep in mind you'll one day not have a choice but to upgrade to that .5 inch thick, 1.5lb AppleDossier Pro Ultra with perpendicular Octo-layer DSVD capabilities (digital super-versatile disc), with 3 petabytes of memory and 5 zettabytes of flash storage.

Well, I still have a PPC 8500 and a Laptop G3, so, do not worry, I am perfectly happy with mine MBP,
I only wanted to express my melancholic sadness of (for once) had having the best laptop available in market...

    anyway, happy

... and I not drunk (still) but I DO some slurring over it,

I bought my 2.33Ghz 3GB ram MBP 4 weeks ago and have no regrets. I bought it at the time because I needed it, even though I knew an update was imminent. I love my MBP (upgraded from a core duo MB), just because a new one has been released hasn't made mine any less useful or powerful. I love it.

[edit] and when I get Leopard in October it will be like getting a whole new Mac again. :D

It is never the "right" time to buy. Buy what you need, when you need it.

And now that the latest model is out, it should only be a matter of minutes for the "Waiting for <insert next Intel Codename here>" thread to appear...

Yes, quite, I echo the buy what you need when you need it sentiment. I had to buy my 17" MBP last December for a new job, and it's been far-and-away the best machine I've ever owned! I absolutely love it!

I'll only upgrade it once the 1920x1200 screen is LED, and 4gb RAM is affordable (so I can finally run Parallels and Aperture at the same time; at the moment I really can't). Which I'm guessing will be after Leopard is released, thus saving me the upgrade cost on that at least :p

as much as i want the new MBP, i don't need it, oh but i want it. if your happy with what u have i see no reason to up grade. if the MB i have ever dies i will get will be getting another make. as of right now it's want not a need. when it's a need i'll get a new one. no reason to get crazy about it.
