Fascination with Monkey user names?

OK, with apologies to monkeybat and inkmonkey,
what's up with all of the "monkey" user names?
The Mac names I get, but the "monkeys"???

There are about 75 different usernames that have "monkey" in them.
By contrast, there are only about 20 or so with "dawg" associated with them.

We have plain monkey and latestmonkey

Along with closely named monkeys:
bluemonkey and Blue Monkey (as well as a purplemonkey)

spacemonkey and space-monkey as well as 3space monkey, spacemonkey9 and funkspacemonkey

monkeyboy, monkeyboyone, iMacMonkeyboy and monkeyboyforeve

groovemonkey and gr00VeMonkey

We have food monkeys:
buttermonkey
coffeemonkey
monkeygum
monkeypie
monkeypoo seems to fit 🙄
sugarmonkey
thaimonkey 😉

We have geek monkeys:

We have even have music monkeys:

I think the lastest research shows that they can distinguish between "none" and "some", but counting seems beyond their capabilities. 😉

But I seem to see a lot more monkey's posting than dogs
Or is it just my imagination?

Great Shagging Saddle Back Tamarins! Now THAT made me burst out laughing.

Not sure what the great monkey fascination is. Maybe it's because they look like little people. But I guess by that logic everyone should have a midget fascination too. I know few people who do and in my case I consider it more of a fetish.
