Hello All,
I have a problem with my Mac Book Pro - Lion. the USB 3.0 is not recognized.
I formated but still. What should I do??
thanx for your help in advance.

Macs don't have USB 3, but it should still work at USB 2 speeds. USB 3 and USB 2 are suppose to be backwards compatible.

You can buy USB3 ExpressCard dongles if you have the 17" MBP (providing there are drivers for it) but otherwise, USB3 will not be fully utilised until Ivy Bridge.

I may be wrong, but I thought that the backwards compatabilty meant that a USB 2.0 device will work in a USB 3.0 hub.

A USB 3 device plugged in to a USB 2 port will run at USB 2 speeds.

A USB 2 device plugged in to a USB 3 port will run at USB 2 speeds.

The benefit of getting a USB 3 device (where the device can take advantage of the speed) is Macs will have USB 3 ports eventually (hopefully soon) and then you'll get the improved performance of USB 3.
