Can I use a 2018 MBP 87watt Power Adapter to charge an XS Max for fast charging?

Yes but it won’t charger faster than a 30w adapter.

You can use wha,t you want, it is Apple that decides how fast to charge.

Yep. I’ve done it. Highly recommend just using an Anker charger as it’s almost just as fast for much cheaper.

It will limit the incoming charge by itself, and it will be fast charging.

I too am looking to see if there are any differences. Hope someone does a comparison someday soon. My guess is that there isn’t a lot different but we will see.

Yeap. If you already own one it’s great to not have to carry two chargers with you. And it does support fast charging. If you don’t own one, no point in buying it, get the cheaper 30watt charger.
