Picked up the Apple 29W USB-C charger and an Apple 2M USB-C to Lightning cable to take advantage of fast-charging on my iPhone 8+.

Upon plugging it in - it chimes/vibrates and shows the charging animation. Then, it goes away/off for a second - before resuming charging for good.

Is this an intended feature of fast-charging? Or is something wrong.

I’ve tried restarting the iPhone, different charging outlets, etc.

Thanks!

Poor wording I guess.

It literally stops charging for two seconds before it resumes charging for good.

Not sure if that is normal or not. My wireless charger and plugging in my regular lightning cable produces the exact same behavior. I do not have any “fast charger” devices so maybe that is the difference

Fast charge is pretty cool. Just need a cable since I already have the plug. Curious about the issue op is having.

Does it hurt battery later on ????

Apple doesnt recommand it on event

Apple has a doc on it somewhere on the website - if explicitly stated on the website, my assumption is that it’s fine.

Nobody has actually answered my question yet..

Aside from Newton - can anyone else confirm or deny that this is the intended behavior of the fast charging tech?
