    Hey guys,

after switching from VDSL to cable my downloads are faster, but browsing feels slower.

The VDSL connection was 50/10 Mbps, the new cable connection has 120/4 Mbps. I do get great download speeds, but browsing somehow feels sluggish and slower than before. At 31ms the Ping is faster than before. I'm using the same router (Linksys e4200) and basically just switched modems.

Am I getting this wrong or should a faster connection like this also improve browsing speeds and not only file downloads?

    Thanks,
    V

it could be an issue with the DNS server of your new ISP, try using google's dns 8.8.8.8 and see what happens.

you can also use this to test is before changing: https://code.google.com/p/namebench/

    Good luck.

Sounds like a DNS issue. I would change it to Google's or OpenDNS like stated earlier.

Thanks for the replies guys, I did still have the old DNS namebench gave me for my old connection specified in my router, with the new providers own DNS browsing got faster again.

    Thanks again.

Glad it worked! What DNS did you change to?
