Fast quad or slow 8-core?

Well not counting price and other factors, just looking at the processor and ram, which do you guys suggest for photography and videography.

One 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon vs Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

Up to the apps you are using. Quad core will run circles around 8-core in tasks that cannot utilize all 8 cores but you need to tell what apps are you going to use

basically all of adobe cs5 suite.

2.93 Quad plus an SSD will feel a LOT faster than the entry Octo for the same money.
