Wokingham U.K.
Last Sunday, I was awarded a medal for my fastest 5km run. Only it wasn’t by almost forty seconds. Actually a slow pace coming back from injury.
Today, I thought I’d make an effort to beat last week’s time, which I did by twenty two seconds, yet it didn’t receive the fastest 5km recognition.
For me, it’s not an issue as it’s the run and trend data which I keep an eye on. I don’t appreciate the apparent inconsistency.
Any thoughts wound be appreciated.

I beat my fastest 5km a few times already in the last couple of months and it didn’t update… no idea at all what‘s going on there
In fact I did so also today and yet the run from back in November last year still is the „fastest“

I think you only get awards for activities recorded in the Workouts app? So if your PB’s have been set in eg Strava or WorkOutDoors then they don’t count.

Could be mistaken though.

I always only run with the native app and my records are not accurate as well. I have run a faster 5K and a faster 10K and the medals doesn’t match. For some reason both my half and full marathon are too fast on the medals though (maybe because of too long distance at the last races)

Not sure if this helpful but I noticed my last few 5km PB’s were not actually in designated 5k runs. I got one in the first 5k of an 8.5 k run and the next one in the first 1/2 of 10k run.

I’ve noticed that for the fastest HM medal, it’s actually showing time for the fastest 20k portion of that run. Would that be the same in your case?
I’ve reported that as a bug several months ago, no fix so far, so I’m wondering whether it’s the same for others…
(Unsure about the full marathon medal - haven’t tried that one just yet!)

It makes sense actually - my September HM was 1.35.09 and Apple gave me a medal for 1.30.06. My full marathon medal is 03.23.34 with Apple and hit it on the second in 3.30.00 so again off by quite a lot.

Hmm sounds like it’s the same. If you want to report it too (and hopefully get it fixed sooner), you can refer to feedback id FB11672285.
Solid times by the way! 👍 I’ve only recently got my first sub-2 HM, so… looks like I have lots of work ahead 😀

And that’s always a good time! To get lower from there will need a lot more work per minute than before. I’m currently training for May 14th Copenhagen Marathon and hope to go 3.15 or even 3.10 if every is just right - but that also took almost double the weekly runs compared to the latest marathon prep.

And remember always compare you to you - not to anybody else. Everyone is different and you should find motivation in your own improvement and not how fast others are

There’s definitely something amiss. I received this award on my last run. It’s slower than the time I posted above..

So a new award for a slower time? What is going on :)

If you go to your medal section, is it the new slower medal or the old?

The new slower medal is displayed in the awards tab. To add insult to injury, I should have got a new one today as I beat the previous times

Ran a HM this morning and ran a PB on 1.31.47 and like with earlier medals it’s way off - like a 20K medal maybe
