Question about the pre-order options.
There was 2 choices, activate now or later (for faster checkout). I chose later. Does this mean I need to take my SIM out of my XS Max and move it into the Pro Max or will the new phone come with a SIM and just need to be activated online while I am setting it up.

Ordered and done. Took about 2 minutes or less as soon as the store opened. One of the good things about the 1up program and the preapproval is the process is even faster because everything is already populated and you just have to check out. Pro Max 256GB Green for in-store pickup on 9/20

I went 512gb Midnight Green Pro Max since I will likely not resell until 2021.

My alarm went off at 7:55am, I took my phone with me to the bathroom and pre-ordered while on the pot. Killed 2 birds with 1 stone all before 8:05.
I wondered the same thing. I think most people either had the app open for a long time and were early in the queue or they ordered the sim free version.
Was so easy and simple. My app opened within 30 seconds of 5am PST. Had my pre-approval through IUP. Selected store pickup and my time slot, hit order and that was it. Done in less than 2 minutes and back off to sleep for 45 more minutes. Wish it was always so smooth.

This was the first time I actually pre-ordered right away, and it indeed was very fast. I have to say, a few years ago, with the iPhone X, I was like a few minutes 'too late' and the delivery date had already slipped by weeks! And now it was a smooth and quick process; mine is set to arrive on launch day! Looking very much forward to it.
Ordered from the apple website from my galaxy s10 plus, store didnt open until 3 after. Had order placed at 5 after. Had my shipping address and credit card updated last night. Got 256 pro max space grey on release day. Back to apple after a year hiatus after poor reception on the max.
