First start download on the phone over wifi(it should say it will finish in 3-9 hours), then turn the wifi off. Turn the wifi back on and it should say "3 minutes remaining or so." i

It worked for me, hopefully it works for others.

This was the only way that worked for me. All attempts to to use the iPad failed with a validation error.

iTunes ftw!
