I got my replacement MBP in the mail yesterday and I noticed right away that video encoding was a lot slower than with my previous MBP (same configuration etc ... see my signature)

And the screen has been flickering quite a lot.

Does this sound like a faulty GPU to you guys?
Any way to know for sure before I ask for another replacement.

Could be poorly applied thermal pasted, failing fan(s), faulty display cable [resulting in the flickering]

they wont replace a bto mbp, just send it in for repairs

They will send me a replacement, because I haven't had it for more than 14 days yet.

+ I'll just say I want a replacement because it came in the box with some nasty scratches (which it did actually, but I didn't think this alone was worth askingn for a replacement)

if im correct bto macs do not apply to the 14 replace refund guarantee.

Yes, they do. I already got a BTO replacement.
I even got to keep the broken MBP I was sending in for 5 days (to transfer my files)

If it were just the scratches, I could've lived with it ... the thing's bound to get scratched eventually, but I can't live with these kind of hardware fails.

Calling AppleCare as soon as I get home today.
