I like the lag fix and also the caching in the safari browser .... I hated everytime i exit the safari and come back. The page load from the beginning... Now that doesnt happen.. Also using gtalk keeps me signed in even when I exit safari (though for a short while)

i'm still getting sms lag..not when i'm typing thank god but still when i'm loading from the home screen. :(:(

Did all you "faster backup" people not know that you could skip the backup by clicking the little 'x' in iTunes?

There was no "don't drop my calls" button to click! I actually have a good cell phone now. How can that not be the most important thing?

But then you don't have a backup. Kind of useful feature. Especially when the phone was so prone to crashing and getting the ALoD. I don't think we didn't notice the x.

True about dropped calls though. And thankfully I haven't had one since I updated.

What a dumbass remark.
And you're not even a noob.
Many people including myself wanted a backup that took less than 3-4 hours to complete - how is that hard to understand?
SKIPPING a backup means you do not HAVE a backup if you want to restore your phone - we don't want to skip it. we just want it to work!!

Better reception is a myth, and Apple's own release note has said nothing about improved reception. I am sure in a week or so, this topic will be officially brought up by one of the popular blogs.

No, no it's not. A lot of my friends are getting 3G reception where they only had edge, and have the data speed and call quality to prove it, and are getting way better reception for both 3G and Edge.

I understand your frustration, but did you leave it to backup while you went to bed?

Yes - that's pretty much the only time I COULD do a backup!
With the 2.1 update, backing up only takes a few minutes now - so I can keep my phone next to me at night in case I want it.

Just irritated that the previous poster did not understand that with all the problems people have had with the 3G iPhone, sometimes needing multiple restores, we NEED a viable backup to restore from. Skipping the backup is NOT a solution to long backup times, but 2.1 is.

Seriously, among the whole list in the poll....absolutely NONE are features..... they should've been there since 2.0!

hence the quotes in the thread title

yeah, hence!

If that's how you feel, you should have bought an iPod Touch because you're wasting a LOT of money!

It was a joke, and also i was making a point. What's the point in having a backup feature if you are not going to use it? And what's the point in a phone if you aren't going to use it?
(also, I'm not wasting money, i have already spent my money :))

im still getting safari carshing - did it twice last night in about 5 minutes of each other - odd that they say they have fixed it yet its still happening

My ONLY point is that being able to make phone calls is more important than having a backup.

I like that I've gotten several responses along these lines and yet not ONE of you has refuted (or even argued against) that point. There was one post, yes, but even he admits that he was joking.

So I think it's pretty funny that you're calling me a dumbass when not a single person has actually disagreed with my point.

Does that make everyone in the thread a dumbass?
