Favorite apps for upscaling images?

I have a bunch of 20+ year old digicam images that I'd like to upscale. Any favorite apps for this? They're family photos so I'm not keen on uploading them, so an OS X app would be preferred (I store all images locally). If not free, I'd much prefer applications that I can purchase over ones with a subscription model.
