Favorite Comedians

I liked John Oliver's special last night. I was hoping it wasn't going to be just another Jimmy Carr british guy telling americans they're stupid, but he pulled it off in such beautfiul way.
 
anybody been to a good comedy show lately? i haven't been to one in about a year and am dying to see some this summer
 
I like Nikki Payne.

Although dirty, very funny. Shes great on Video on Trial too.

I wish I got it in the States......
 
Unfortunately I haven't seen many American or British Comedy shows...
Well, I guess you also mean movie stars.. I can name couple:

Jim Carrey

Got to be Dave Allen for me - the guy was a genius. His TV show in the UK was a great combo of standup (or rather sit down) comedy and satirical sketches.
 
Not really a comedian, but the funniest man ever to live: Douglas Adams

As for comedians... I've yet to see someone surpass:

I enjoy Mike Briglesby/Bahosky 😉 and his Secret Pulic Journal.
Tosh is hilarious.
And I love Hastings crazy stories/rants.

I'd also have to add Jim Gaffigan to the list. 😀 Mmmmm... Bacon...

OP, are you a Bob and Tom listener?

Yeah, I could do that, but I still like much of the stuff they've done out of "the group", like Terry Gilliam's movies, John Cleese in Fawlty Towers and Michaels Palin's travel programs, to mention a few, so just referring to Monty Python wouldn't be precise, nor fair... 😉

Yeah, it reminds me of The Beatles, when a fan has much love for their solo work as well as the band's albums.

The Gilliam films are all brilliant, probably my favorite post-Python efforts of any of them...
