I have a broken down iMac, but I loved it before it worked. I want to do a survey on what people like best about the iMac:

    1. Sound
    2. Speed
    3. Operating System
    4. Hard Drive Space
    5. Portability

(please don't talk about macbooks, I want iMac information)

Even though I do not own an iMac, I would vote for options 1, 2, and 3. I played with the iMac's in the Apple store a few weeks back and am contemplating on getting one myself.

One option that's not listed is its all-in-one look. I like how it looks. I guess that could fit in option 5, since everything is in one package.

my vote is for 1, 2, and 3. Plus the built in camera, and monitor size.
The speakers on these really surprised me. They dont sound too bad for built in speakers.

I just got my 24" 2.8Ghz w/ 4GB RAM iMac this week... and my reasons are as follows:

    1) It's so quiet. I can't believe it... I can't even hear this thing run!
    2) The screen. Beautiful rich colors, huge size, crystal clear.
    4) The OS. With Leopard's amazing multi-tasking capabilities I can get SO MUCH more done on this machine than my windows PC at work. Why? Expose, Spotlight, Finder, iLife, etc. "It's the OS, Stupid!"
    3) The speed. My last computer was a G4 iMac. The same video encoding that takes an hour and a half on my new iMac took upwards of 16 hours on my old one. Now that is fast!

Why would we be talking about macbooks?? lol

I love my imac, the screen, the isight, mic, sexiness, size, everything, though i use bose companion 2's, i occasionally unplug them to hear the sound of the built in's, they are not as good as my bose, but wow, the sound it makes is extraordinary!!!!.

better change that sig, you said your imac has a 160gb HD, which i doubt you opened it to degrade it.

    Os

It is speedy, it looks great, it performs flawlessly. So I choose:
    3. OS (10.5.1) Leopard
Although it is hard to choose just one.

I absolutely love the design of my iMac. All of my friends have complimented how great it looks, and all say "That thing is the whole computer?!" Haha, that reaction is priceless. When the new Aluminum iMac's came out I thought my white iMac would get boring fast, but the opposite is true. It still looks as sexy as the day I pulled it out the box. Overall, the iMac's are wonderful machines. I never want to get rid of mine, and I get bored with computers very fast! :)

    Ancient iMac

I have a really old iMac, and even though the moniter needs a new filament, I have the 1,000 volt tubes apart trying to fix them. So, I agree that you never can get sick of an iMac. Please keep posting people!
