I have had each iPhone since its inception and with each release I was excited for it to be delivered and mess with the new features.

Original iPhone - Touch Screen
iPhone 3G - App Store
iPhone 3GS - Video Camera
iPhone 4 - Retina Display
iPhone 4S - Siri
iPhone 5 - Bigger Screen

But the last couple of releases I have enjoyed my iPhone but didn't really feel that spark or excitement. Sure the features were cool, but after a few hours I was ehh, its a phone again. But with the iPhone 5s its a different story.

There is two features of the 5s that continue to amaze me!
First, the Touch ID I use all the time and find my self trying to use it on my iPad Mini. I figured it would be a gimmicky or awkward feature like Siri (beta). But it honestly feels like its my first time using the Touch ID each time I do it, there is something about it that just seems like it should have been here since the very beginning.

Second is the Slow Motion Camera, another feature I thought was going to be gimmicky and something I wouldn't use. That was until I used it, the simplicity behind it and the content I can create! I literally spent half the afternoon slow motion filming my dog in the back yard....

Personally I think Apple took everything from the previous 5 iPhones and made one AMAZING product!

- One happy buyer!

Which iPhone is your favorite ?

I've only owned each iPhone since the 4 and I haven't received my 5S yet (should be here Wednesday/Thursday) but I have to say the 5S is my favourite.

I know what you mean about the hype dying down each time and I can only imagine it being exponentially worse for you since you've been on board since the very beginning. I think I was the most excited for the 4 because of the radical new design and it was my first but in terms of hardware design, the 5/5S is just stunning. I can't wait to have the 5S in hand so I can start using the TouchID and SloMo camera.

Until then, I'm stuck with this gawdawful S2...:(

I think the 4 was the biggest impact since the launch of the iPhone. The new design and the retina display was a major change to the industry.

I had the original (still have it), briefly the 3GS, the 4s, 5, and now 5s. The 5s is my favorite. Touch ID is one of those "why didn't all phones have this before?" kind of features. Sure, the 5s isn't as groundbreaking as the original, or as stunning as the original Retina display on the 4/4s (compared to their predecessors), but it's getting more and more refined with each revision.

For me the iPhone 4 with its unique design and material was a game changer.
You should really try to remember the days ;)

Most people were still using plastic candybar phones from Nokia, SonyEricsson or whatnot. Blackberry was big for business people.

All people I knew were absolutely blown away but could not understand what it means.

- No USB
- No changeable batteries
- .... no J2ME for all the Apps ;)

The last point makes me laugh today, because nearly everything you could really do was J2ME or Series 60 based programming which nearly no one knew anything about.

Yes, the iPhone 4 definitely changed everything at least for me.

iPhone 4 was the biggest iPhone next to the original IMO. It had so many wow factors and was ahead of its time.

I remember going from the Palm Treo 800 to the Original iPhone.... Man seem so long ago!

I've seen and used them all over the years and my own personal order of preference would be...

1. iPhone (because it was the one that started it all)
2. iPhone 5s
3. iPhone 5c
4. iPhone 4S
5. iPhone 5
6. iPhone 4
7. iPhone 3GS
8. iPhone 3G

I really enjoyed reading this post! Nice to see a perspective from someone from the beginning.

I am on Verizon and have been for nearly a decade. As a result the first iPhone available to me was iPhone 4. Though I did buy a first gen iPod touch 32 gig at launch. I still have and use it regularly at work where I am not permitted a camera phone.

I have only ever had two iPhones. My trusty iPhone 4 which I had for two and a half years (Verizon launched in February 2011). And this 32 gig Silver 5S I have had for a week.

The 5S from 4 jump means I made a significant leap getting all those new features from Siri on in one upgrade means I am over the moon for the 5S!

Just realized as I wrote this that I've had the beginning middle and most current iOS devices. Probably won't wait as long for the next one though.

Looks like no love for the 3G

of course i would vote for the iphone 5S since it's the newest and the most advanced. but i will always have a dear place on my heart for iphone 4 since it's my first iphone.

The only thing I didn't like about the iPhone 4, was how long it took some apps to update to retina

i have a 5S and love it, but i prefer the design of the 5C. i loved my 3GS long after i upgraded. i ignored the 4/4S for over 12 months but then had a proper go and was sold on the screen, but have still never been a fan of the squared off design and still aren't.

My favorite design is the 5c with 4/4s right there with it. The original holds a special place as well. I like the 5s, but the design of the iPhone 5 is one of my least favorite with the 3G and 3GS ...

I really like the design of the iPhone 5C
