-ultrasn0w (needed for Europe)
-5 icon backgrounder (like seeing 5 icons instead of 4 for multitasker)
-BiteSMS (quick compose/reply is awesome)

:)

That's about all I have on my phone. I've done winterboard and stuff in the past, don't really feel like bothering here.

Anyone?

Tried multifl0w, didn't really like it.

FolderEnhancer looks cool but unnecessary, no?

Do you really get good use out of it?

Would you guys mind posting what these apps do? I've been contemplating jailbreaking, but I don't know of any cool apps that would improve my iPhone experience.

Why do you say it's unnecessary? If you want to have as few features as possible on your phone then don't install anything. I've got probably 100 jailbreak apps/tweaks. Most are probably not required, but I enjoy having the capability to do as much as possible with my phone.

Contribution:

Tetherme (USB tethering)
Transparent Status Bar
Locktopus (lock any app)
Activator (assign actions to gestures)
SpringFlash (1 touch flashlight)
PagePreview (move to any springboard page and open any app/folder with 1 touch)
Navigate from Maps (use Maps.app to search, turn by turn with Navigon/TomTom, makes Navigon 1000X better)
Safari Download Manager (can download whatever you want from safari)
iFile (can browse file system of iPhone)

Yup. Works really great for me and my game apps. Previously, I had a specific type of game on one page. Then, it moved to one page with different folders of specific games. Now, I have one game folder with 8 different folders in it based on the type of game. Overkill? Maybe, but it does make for a lot easier navigation and less clutter. Pain in the ass when it comes to creating said folder of folders though. MultiIconMover helped out a lot there.

How do you use the multi icon mover feature?

Get your apps to jiggle
tap the apps you want to move (little red check will appear on the icon)
move to the page you want the apps on
hit the home button and all apps will move there
From there you can put them into folders

Not sure if there's an "easier" way to do it but this is how I did it

That's what I thought but I thought I may have been doing it wrong. I don't get a check when I touch an app. Is it included with folderenhancer or do you have to download something else?

With FolderEnhancer installed, MultiIconMover is improved. You can move "checked" apps into folders as well as regular springboard pages.

I don't rearrange on a mass scale often, but FolderEnhancer with MultiIconMover makes the task much simpler and quicker.

BiteSMS is a replacement for the basic messages app - includes, IIRC, the ability to reply/compose texts without having to go into the app - nice because it lets you reply without leaving an app too.

SBSettings lets you tweak a few things without having to go deep into settings, such as 3G, Edge, Wifi, and Bluetooth connections. Also you can mess with brightness. I like it because sometimes at work the wifi doesn't like to connect to a forum I go to without repeated stop/reloads, so I use SBSettings (defualt activation is to swipe the top of the screen) to quickly turn off wifi.

BiteSMS
SBSettings
Backgrounder
LockInfo
iFile

These are my absolute must have and the first app I always install, everything else is "nice to have" and I install them as I need them.

to be fair I havent installed "make it mine" since I had my 3G, but I still got my "hacked" carrier text since I change it the first time (even when not JBed)

Quick question:

Does Backgrounder do anything different than the stock ios4 multi-tasking? I did my jailbreak about a week and a half ago and have installed some things but am on the fence about this one. Not sure if there are too many differences although from the amount of people who list it I'm guessing there is :)

Yes, as anything from Apple, the JB option add "freedom". Native Background only allow "some" app to really run in the BG. with backgrounder you are in control of what app runs and what app don't.
