Faxing via Mac OS X?

I have a MacBook running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I connect to the internet via wifi, and I was wondering if it was at all possible to send a fax to a phone number. I have a PDF file I'd like to fax, but I personally don't have a fax line. Thanks for any help!

I'll check some of those out. This is for the most part a one-time thing, so the options for two bucks a pop seem good. While some of them are ad-based, does that mean I see ads on their website, or the recipient sees ads embedded into my fax?

Usually, yes, on the cover page.

FaxZero places an ad on the cover page and limits you to three pages and two transmissions a day.
