It's my understanding that messages are only seen on the device that the conversation is started from. However, starting today, a end to end encrypted message in able to be seen on both my iPhone app session as well as on my Chrome browser session. Is anyone else seeing this issue? Any ideas how to remove the message on my Chrome session so it's only shown on my iPhone session?

FB as in Facebook messenger? I'm not aware of any way to make Facebook messages not visable where you are logged in. If I send a message on my iPhone with Facebook messenger it will show up on my Mac if the browser is open.

End to end encrypted... I wouldn't count on that with Facebook. It's really not the app you want to be using if you need security or privacy. I know they used to scan messages for keywords to post ads

They still do. A friend of mine wrote to me via that app about a good vacation to St. Lucia. Guess what started to appear in some ads?

That's one thing.

Try discussing something with the FB app open and you will start seeing ads for that as well.

I have tried to look for a setting to disable the mic access for FB. I haven't been able to find out. But yes, I have discussed that same issue with close friends.

We were discussing a past beach trip and next thing, our feeds had beach vacation packages. We were all like WTF creepy.

End-to-end encrypted messages will show up on all active devices you're currently signed into when sent/received.

I believe you can clear your Chrome's browser cache if you want to remove the message there; though new ones will probably show up after you sign in again based on the previous statement/link.

Are you sure it was an end-to-end encrypted message? Facebook/Messenger does not do end-to-end encryption by default. The message has to be specified as being a secret conversation when starting a new message (or by tapping 'Go to secret conversation' on the person's info screen).

They don't tell you that. Makes sense. Thanks.

end to end encryption means the message encrypted from your end all the way to the other end you are contacting (person you are messaging). any place you log in that is your account (your end) . it will show up.

i wouldnt trust FB though.
