says my audio is out of sync audio doesnt come out of my camera ether idk what the problem is i havent changed my audio settigns on ether my camera or my mac using an ibookg4 fce4 panasonic dvx100a 16 bit i just imported a clip lastnight fine the power went out here maybe that could be some of the issue ?

Do you use Firewire for transferring the DV material from the DVX 100 to your iBook? (redundant question I guess)
What are your sequence and clip settings and with what settings did you record on the camera?
Have you tried trashing your user settings?

I agree, and also, something to try is checking that your cameras microphone actually works, it could be that its recording broken data, so that Final Cut cant read it (I had similar problems with an older FireWire camera, and a broken mic - Final Cut just refused to work with it after that.
