I hope someone here can assist me, as I was somewhat insulted and looked down upon by the demi-Gods on the actual Apple site.

I have FCP 7.0.2. It was installed about 6 months ago. As a production service, we sent the install discs to a vendor of ours for use on a project. The discs were lost in a fire. The gal lost everything.

We've been using the FCP ever since and never had a reason to use the master templates. Recently I decided to try them out. Nothing. Zero. The folder was empty. And as one person noted, I looked for "Destinations" under the "Preferences" tab. Again, no "Destinations". Never had a reason to look before, and now nothing. So a reinstall would come simply from the saved folder version.

I have on an external drive where I keep all program installs the folder marked "Extras". In there are several templates and other additional items such as the DVX-100 and others.

Simple question. How do I import this material into FCP without the install discs?

My system is IMAC 8,1. Running Snow Leopard. Version 10.6.4.

Thanks for the assist.

You really need the install discs. You could try contacting Apple with proof-of-purchase and explain your situation, but I'd leave out the fact that you gave/loaned the install discs to someone that wasn't licensed to use the software.

If that doesn't work, being in business, surely you had insurance coverage. Or perhaps she did. File a claim.
