So I had a problem with text making my video choppy with black frames. I found out that removing "frame blending" help fixed the problem. The only problem I have left is that when adding the text, it creates one second with a black background before the video track underneath begins.

The clip is only 5 seconds, and one second with a black background is very noticeable. And if I remove the text, the video remains with the black second, and I have to undo everything. Or, export the clip as mov, and then import it to add the text.

So what is the setting/config to fix this???

thanks

Are you using FCP's built-in text generator? As convenient as it is, it is very buggy, even though I had not heard about the particular problem you described.

Can you use Photoshop or something similar for the text (i.e., turn it into graphics, bypassing the text generator) and see if that works?
