Hello,

I have been trying to decide on this for quite some time. I know in the past (2010 6-core Mac Pro, 2015 custom built Windows pc 6 core non-Xeon but without QuickSync), Xeons did not have QuickSync so my exports from FCPX were very slow compared to my 2016 MacBook Pro. With HEVC, is this still a thing? Or will the new Mac Mini with QuickSync always beat a new Mac Pro? Same applies to the iMac Pro. I really don’t want the screen anyway.

Thanks!

If you've got the time to wait and a ton of cash, the next Mac Pro will be the machine you want.

I sense that the 2019 Mac Pro's are going to be -very- expensive.
Are you willing to lay down the extra cash?
I'll reckon that they'll start at $4,000, and go up... WAY up...

1: Mac Pro
2: iMac Pro
3: Mac Mini 2018
4: Stacking few Mac Mini (2018) using 10Gb Ethernet and you'll need 10Gb Router/Hub.

I think 4 will work out much faster, I'm not sure if I'm right.
