Managed once to import direct in to FCPX some AVI clips clips from a Vivitar action cam - I don't know how and can't repeat the occasion. So annoying as I now need to labouriously convert via third party software and not all work.

MPEG Slipstream won't show video just sound as does Vivitars own image management software. Right clicking to transcode don't work, either.

Any bright sparks out there?

Cheers,
Keith

Handbrake perhaps? I sometime will use handbrake to MKV then iVI light to FCP compatible. Will VLC play the AVI file?

For prestine AVI video, most of the free apps do just fine, but video with glitches or dropouts will cause all kinds of issues, audio without video and video without audio being common outcomes.

Handbrake seems to clean many of these glitches up, but there is just so much it can do.
