Hi all,

I'm finding that if I try to run either FCPX or iMovie on my 15" 2016 MBP they crash straight away.

But only if the laptop is connected to an external monitor, and it's lid is shut - so Clamshell mode.

Anyone else seeing this?

The monitor is a 27" Ilyama connected via HDMI.

The error in the report that FCPX sends is...

[FFHGRendererInfo initWithLocation:] CGLSetVirtualScreen failed - didn't expect to get here. Investigate why this code ran:
[FFHGRendererInfo initWithLocation:] CGLSetVirtualScreen failed: loc=1, ctxt=0x7ffd7762e000, err=10008

It it easy for you to try another monitor?

Does the 2016 use a different graphic chip on an external monitor... but that should case a problem wether in clamshell or not.

Atre your power savings settings different for lid closed than open?
