FCPX Apple ProRes 422 mov. Files greyed out for import..?

So I try to import files into FCPX which were exported from Premiere Pro
(..QuickTime Apple ProRes 422 Mov. Files to be exact.)

I was under the impression that FCPX 'just could import these ProRes files.. (Premiere Pro can..)
...so how come they are greyed out in FCPX so I can't import them?

It certainly should 'just work'. Do the files open correctly in QuickTime Player?

Yeah they do.. that's why I'm baffled as to why they are greyed out in the import window.

I haven't used FCP for a while so can't remember the exact wording, but are you sure that you're in "import media" rather than trying to import a project or something?

Haha i understand you're point, and must say I have started using FCPX again since about two weeks ago when my new MacBook arrived.

When I'm home after work in an hour, I'm gonna dive into it again.
..It sure could be I did something wrong.

Well, it's fixed (still not figured it out exactly what went wrong, probably a buggy rendering?)

I tried some clips of my own and exported them through Premiere Pro as QuickTime Apple ProRes 422 in the the Mov. file format.

And they were perfectly visible and imported into FCPX.

i Guess somewhere the former export/inport files went wrong.

I was worried there a bit at first, but it worked out in the end?

If I may, I have another question relating some GoPro CineForm footage... and jep.. can't import those either in FCPX.


My guess is I need some sort of plugin ..or pull them through compressor first?
