FCPX is kind of buggy for me.

Hi. I am on a 2019 13" MacBook Pro 500 GB (Specs in attachments) and FCPX has been kind of buggy for me. I have been editing off of an external hdd (WD MY PASSPORT 2TB), and every time I try to edit a video over, like, 30 seconds, my library "is broken" and I need to work off a backup. No big deal. Right? WRONG!! It then crashes on me, and I have to do the ENTIRE YouTube video over again. I don't have any extra plugins or extensions installed except for titles and transitions I made in motion, and a title/transition pack from dp669 (Youtuber pack 3.0 https://www.dp669.com). Can anyone help or has anyone have been having issues? Thanks.

Your library is on the external hard drive, or just the original media?.

I'd either try a different hard drive/enclosure, a SSD works well or try putting the library on the internal drive, and keep your media on the external. Don't import the media into the library.

I would move your library over to a external SSD as ColdCase said above. I did that a few years back and my performance (and reliability for that matter) was so much better.
