I saw that too. The App works just fine though the initial setup took me 2 tries on my new iPhone. According to the FAQs they are planning on adding support for both Locking your Mac as well as pairing to Multiple Macs. However, it said that last year too. I think Locking your Mac is easy enough with a hot corner, but it is disappointing that the Multiple Macs feature hasn't been added, though that may not be easy to do.

I wouldn't read too much into the lack of updates as the functionality is fine, and there are really no iOS 8 or iPhone 6/6 Plus updates needed. You never open the app, it just runs in the background.

But I would have liked to see Apple incorporate this feature, or buyout the code, and incorporate it/improve upon it with 10.10 and iOS 8. Considering all that Continuity and Handoff can do, this would have made great sense.

There seems to have updates done to it (the Mac software). Current version is 1.1.8 and the one at the App Store is 1.0.3, which I guess is the client for the phone.

Guess you have to download from website? Don't use it by might look into it.

Yeah I see why Apple doesnt want this feature to be official perhaps they had some security concerns.

As the app not being updated for about one year. My main concern is that the app may not be able to receive the future updates to ensure the compatibility since it cost me 4$. And another thing is, I really don't mind opening an app on iPhone then unlock Mac if they allow me to unlock it using Touch ID. It's always better than typing password on Mac, I wish they consider adding such functions.

You don't open anything on your iPhone. Just wake the Mac and when the screen goes from black to log in, just tap twice on your phone. Your phone can be locked in your pocket or sitting on a desk. You can even knock on the back casing of the phone. I like it, it's pretty slick. And it continues to work with the Yosemite beta.

You're right. They've updated the Mac component. I use MacUpdate Desktop to monitor and update all my non-Mac App Store software, of which the desktop client for Knock is just a download from their site.

But you do need both the $4 iOS app, and the free Mac companion app. I also don't even see it in my Mac Menu Bar because I run Bartender to slim down the menu icons.
