Honestly no I don't care about two people I've never met, just like everyone else here who didn't take 2 seconds to think about it until they have the chance to look like they do in a public forum. It's just entertaining reading posts from people that join the thread to make remarks about computers over life or oh ya i see the latest "don't touch their computer" so witty! Give him a cookie.

Were suppose to care now because the lemmings all think were bad, moral barren people  lol whatever. Please continue to entertain us :)

It's just entertaining reading pots from people that join the thread to make remarks about computers over life or oh ya i see the latest "don't touch their computer" so witty! Give him a cookie.

Reading pots? Or maybe smoking them? :D
Just to further entertain you... what you do or don't care about doesn't really matter to me one little bit. Sorry. If you want to keep ranting, that's up to you... you're doing all the entertaining here. I think everyone else has left the building, and I'm doing the same thing. Stick around and knock yourself out... so long. ;)

im far from cold hearted but im just keeping it real. i live in orlando florida i know a whole lot of people who get shot and killed each year but its apart of life. nobody would create a whole thread about my boy gee who got killed doing his job(wich dying is not apart of ,but being a pilot it sorta is) so why for two random pilots? it makes no sence to involve that on here. i mean of course its sad for anybody to die and yes condolences should be given but not on a computer forum. tell it to the families in a letter or something if you fell that strong about it

@pd what? your back! Good to see I kept you coming back lol at 2:55 you said you lost interest and now back to get that last word in at 3:53 :)

These threads are so much fun, just step out of the lemmings lineup and it's so easy to get a reaction about people. If you think this is a rant, or the last 3 lines were ? no wonder you all are so sensitive. lol I'm just debating my position that this thread was taken over by people stepped in to do nothing other then judge the OP, myself and a few others that don't pretend to care about two pilots. Life happens, move on. This has been talked to death so please take the last word and we shall call it a day :) Enjoy.

Mine was initially shipped after the plane crash in Japan and has been delayed in Shanghai for 3 days. In some cases, it's not the plane crash that has caused the delays. It's the volcano in Alaska.

Damn. That sucks. I know if it was me I would be going crazy waiting for my MBP

People,

Most of the Apple shipments are delayed because of the MT Redoubt volcano activity. http://www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/Redoubt.php

As someone in the now about FedEx and airplanes you should know that Volcanic ash is very corrosive and most airlines have moved almost all of their planes out of ANC until the ash dissipates. FedEx has even put local Alaskan deliveries on hold in effected areas.

In regards to the plane crash, that planes manifest is most likely locked down tight until after the investigation is over and you may never know if your delayed computer was on the plane.

Anyone else have a shipment exception "Delay Beyond Our Control" on their MBP's fedex tracking? Guess a volcano near Anchorage erupted 6 times and is causing planes from China to be delayed. Doesn't look like I'll be getting my replacement 17" this week anymore, was supposed to be delivered Thursday morning. Ordered in late January and still no working uMBP on my lap. Can't believe that it will be atleast April before I get a working unit and thats if I get a good one this time. Anyone else got any info?

All,

The source of delays AFTER the plane crash are indeed because of the volcano eruption. I have been on and off the phone with Fedex these past two days wondering why my order sat still in Shanghai for a day, and now has been sitting for 2 days and still is sitting in Memphis waiting to clear.

Fedex basically told me that all regular Intl Priority Direct Distribution service packages normally go through Anchorage and most have been re-routed to other hubs for clearance/sorting. Seems like they are WAY behind clearing stuff. I sure hope they double shift over the weekend and get mine (and everybody elses Apple stuff :)) cleared and sorted to get here (to them) by Monday...

Cheers...

Update - WOOT! Mine just cleared out of Memphis! Finally on its' way...good luck all hope you get your orders on the way soon too...

another disaster

my new tracking second after the plane crash....is another natural disaster.....called apple and got to choose any laptop bag / sleeve i wanted.

Pass it on, just be really nice to them. They were awesome!@

First MBP was on the FedEx plane.
Replacement MBP was shipped 3/28 via UPS and now shows "Natural Disaster" in Shanghai China.

I think I'm going to at least ask for the expedited shipping charge back...

Here's what I think about two random pilots dying: I really don't care. And neither do you. So stop the phony compassion. There are untold horrors going on all over this planet. People are needlessly dying from all sorts of preventable causes (disease, hunger, war, etc) day after day. Instead of donating your extra income to try to stop these atrocities you instead buy expensive cars, overpriced laptops, pay for tanning salons, and drink $5 coffees. Give me a break. You don't care.

The only thing as bad as taking joy in terrible things is feigning that you care. Just stop.
