So FedEx is delivering my phone from AT&T. Cannot have it held or changed. FedEx says no signature required according the the tracking number. Cannot be home to "sign" for it if need be. Sigh, FWP.

Always ordered from Apple and had UPS hold it at the CC. This year, ordered from Apple at 3:10 AM EST and got a delivery of 17-24. Ordered at AT&T at 5:30 AM EST and got a Nov. 3 delivery day. Go figure.

Any experience with FedEx? Really don't have any options honestly. Just going to hope for the best.

Same prob here, all the customize delivery options are grayed out. Annoyed.

Yup. Don't understand that. You would think they would allow it just to take a load off the drivers (one less stop for them).

I believe you can sign a form and put it on your door to have them leave it. That is if you are comfortable having them leave the package outside.

A few years ago when I ordered phones through Verizon (including a 5S), I just left a note for Fedex and they left the phone on my back porch. If it says no signature required they should just leave it, or you can leave a note to be safe. Do you not want them to leave it unattended?

I think if you make a Fedex account there are settings to set delivery instructions (e.g. leave out back) that apply to all deliveries.

Is it actually a moving package right now or just a label created? If that latter, that's probably why.

I am comfortable with them leaving it, that's not the problem. I just don't want them to NOT leave it. Lol Looks like notes are it!

Why AT&T, why????

Like others, I was bummed when I logged into FedEx Delivery manager to see the options grayed out. I'm blaming AT&T because for previous iPhone launch orders via Apple online, and MBP orders, Apple give us the option to hold for pickup.

In the past, when I selected hold for pickup at FedEx Kinko's, the item would be ready for pickup as early as 10AM. FedEx trucks always swing by the FedEx Office/Kinko's locations early in the morning for overnight, next day pickups, etc.

IIRC, those grayed out options may only become available after the first delivery attempt.

I doubt FedEx would leave the package unattended, as I live in Brooklyn and that would mean basically leaving it on the sidewalk. (It has happened before, but only with USPS or Lasership.) What I wanted to do was choose a delivery window so I don't have to stay home all day. I was even willing to pay for it. Too bad for both of us, FedEx.

This. Most drivers will leave a package/follow instructions on a note.

Don't blame FedEx folks, it is an AT&T thing - they do not allow holds for some odd reason....

As of right now I can't hold mine either. Verizon. It still hasn't officially shipped yet though but the customize button was added last night. Guess we shall see in the next few hours.

Yup, leaving a note. Already made a couple (one for each door) and will tape it up before I go to work tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well. If not, won't be the end of the world.

Tried the note trick the other day. No go, you must sign their paper or do a presign online.

Don't blame FedEx. It's ATT that puts the restrictions on. Trust me, FedEx would love not to have to delivery it to you or to delivery to FedEx Office. I use those options all the time. But if the shipper restricts the delivery they can't do it.

That said you should be able to waive signature if you login to FedEx online -- if you don't have an account just register.

Don't see an online pre-sign thing. Nor do I see the one to print out.

Hmm... I assume you are logged in before entering the tracking number. If so could be ATT is really locking down how the phone gets delivered. What a PITA. I hate it when companies have zero consideration for customers this way.

Similar issue from Verizon. I wanted to have it held but will not allow for it to be held. That said, I have left a note had it refused to be left one time (several times it was successful) so now I just let my retired neighbors know and leave a note that the neighbors will sign for it next door.

Any time I have ever had fedex deliver and a signature was required but I wouldn’t be there, I just write on a piece of paper something along the lines of “Fedex, please accept this piece of paper as Amy signature and release the package and leave in mailbox” (if it fits) And then I sign and date it and I have never had any issues. The only issue with this method is that if it’s stolen, you are on the hook since you technically signed for it.

None of the options are available, even scheduling a delivery window. There's no reason why ATT would need to put a restriction on that option.

Delivery window is all FedEx. Guessing it would cause them too much having havoc tomorrow. The other stuff is ATT.

I ordered my 6s from AT&T and they sent it fedex. Fedex left it on my front doorstep.

A neighborhood dog got it and ripped the box to shreds.

I had to battle with AT&T to send me a new phone. And then I promised myself, never again. Their $25 BS upgrade fee made it a simple decision too.

View attachment 730718 Could this be why there is no option to hold at facility? Is Fedex using a 3rd party contractor to deliver the excess of phones? I seem to recall this method for my 5 or 6 from a Mercedes delivery van.

I have a “vacation hold” option on Fedex. That’s it.

Does nobody here have friends, family, or neighbors that they can ask to pick it up?

Watch your tracking number online and text them when it’s delivered?
