As much as I would also like this to be a more affordable 27" 5K monitor in the $800-$900 that you specified earlier, I just can't see that happening with all of the features the Samsung ViewFinity S9 has. It's clearly better than the LG Ultrafine (other than perhaps the matte finish) and that's still retailing for around $1,000 -$1,200.
But who knows? Maybe Samsung will surprise as after all with a lower than expected price. We'll just have to continue to wait and see. I still think they will try to price it below the $1,599 starting price for the ASD and should still offer good value, especially if one was considering the ASD with a matte finish and height-adjustable stand.
