Hi all, Im a new member of these forums and aim to be as active as I can be.
Firstly I hope this thread is in the right area, if not I apologise.
For my opening post/thread I'm hoping to draw on some expert advice as I've googled and come up short.
I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 13 inch A1989 with Touch Bar. EMC3358.
2.4GHZ Quad core i5
8GB Ram
I bought this from a well known auction site and am generally very very happy with it, especially the price I paid.
Now the issues are thus. Im certain, almost 100% certain in fact that the screen has been replaced at some point. (more on this later)
The FaceTime camera is not working. In fact the Mac doesn't even see it. Ive clicked on system report, hardware, camera and it says "No video capture devices were found".
On top of this the keyboard backlight doesn't work. The brightness up/down command on the Touch Bar doesn't even register the graphic on the screen.
And Lastly the TrueTone feature is nowhere to be seen.
Now this is why I think the screen has been replaced. A: Ive had the bottom off of the Mac and the screws which would usually be associated with taking a screen off and on again have been used, i.e they have screwdriver use marks. B: there is a telltale sticker on the I/o board.
I read somewhere that if an aftermarket screen is used then the T2 chip disables TrueTone?
Anyhow id quite like the camera back and the keyboard backlight! Ive tried sudo killall thingy. Ive tried SMC and PRAM resets. All to no avail.
Any ideas folks? The Mac runs Perfectly well otherwise.
Thank you in advance, I hope I've provided as much information as you would need.
Tony

Sounds like whoever did the screen replacement didn’t do a great job. Lots of small wires to get pinched or severed during disassembly and assembly. Return it If you can. Getting it back to factory spec will probably cost more than a new machine. You got what you paid for. Still happy?

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your input and in depth help. Yes I am still happy as if I have to put up with the issues then the price I paid is still great.
Again thanks for all your help.
